Coach Wellington rubbishes Kotoko reports

Posted On Tuesday, 27th September 2011

Berekum Chelsea assistant coach Orlando Wellington has distanced himself from reports linking him to the Kotoko assistant role.

Kotoko are still seeking an assistant coach deputy trainer after long target Yusif Abubakar swerved the Porcupine Warriors to sign for Medeama.

Wellington, who led Chelsea to a historic league title last season, has been touted as a likely candidate.

But the Ghana U20 coach has moved to dispel the reports in the local media.

”There is no truth in that. No official has contacted me,” the former Ghana Under-20 coach said.

“Maxwell (Konadu) is a friend who would have wished to get me on board to help the course of Kotoko.

”I am happy with my stay at Chelsea and don’t know what will make me decide to leave them.”
