Clottey primed for Esperance challenge

Ghana striker Emmanuel Clottey says he is determined to impress at Tunisian side Esperance.

He joined the Tunis-based side from Berekum Chelsea in a deal worth US$1.5 million on a three-year contract.

Clottey hogged the headlines in this year's CAF Champions League with Chelsea by scoring 12 goals in 11 matches.

North Africa has not been a favourable terrain for Ghanaian players but defender Harrison Afful has chalked modest successes with Esperance the last three seasons.

Clottey says he will follow the example set by the former Asante Kotoko left-back.

"It is all about hard work and dedication and with the help of God, I know I can do it,'' the 25-year-old said.

"People see me in the street and they start shouting goal which means the demand is big.
