Striker Clint Dempsey hopes the US will end Ghana’s dominance over in the World Cup finals when they clash in their Group G opener.

The Stars and Stripes’ dream of progressing to the quarter-final in South Africa 2010 was shut by the Black Stars.

US lost 2-1 after extra-time and tasted their second defeat in a row to Ghana after losing by the same scoreline in the Group stage at the 2006 finals hosted by Germany.

“We’ve played them the last two world cups and maybe it’s an opportunity for us to get them back,” Demspey, who now plays for Seattle Sounders said after the draw.

“We feel hard done by because the last two times we played them they crushed our dreams of going further in the World Cup. We’re due a win.”

Football is nothing in American beside the rest of the world, therefore, you will not progress in the expense of Ghana till the world’s game is know in America. Also, this guy is dead horse, he couldn’t sty in the EPL could not handle the pressure after all he did at fulham then came back to the MLS, MLS is considered division 2 in game or below.

    • POW@ Group G for the 2 G's says:

He might be a dead horse but he’s still in the game. What happened to Ishmael Addo, Benard Dong Bortey, Razak Pimpong and co? Didn’t they all play in the same season during the world under 17 cup tournament just 14 or so years ago with Dempsey, Donavan and Beasley? How come our players have faded out and these guys are still playing? Can somebody help me on this?

Typical Americans, they always talk as if everything in this world belongs to them. When we eliminated them in the round of 16 stage @ the last WC come listen to what some of their pundits were saying on ESPN, “GH a country that is not up to the size of stage of Oregon has eliminated the almighty USA from the WC”. Some were even saying that they’ve never heard of a country called GH and all that crap! Gosh!! These guys never cease to amaze me indeed.

  8. Maxwell Johnson says:

Correction: State I meant not stage lol!

  9. Dr. Zomito says:

These Americans always talking big for nothing! They behave like the Zambians.
