CK Akunnor insists he won't quit the Hearts job
By Patrick Akoto
Under-fire Hearts coach CK Akunnor insists he won’t resign from the club despite growing reports over his future.
The 38-year-old has come under intense pressure to quit his post following the side’s poor start in the Ghana Premier League.
The capital-based suffered their third successive defeats in the top-flight after they lost 2-0 at Berekum Chelsea last weekend.
Critics have accused the former Ghana captain of failing to show leadership in clamping down on growing indiscipline in the team.
But Akunnor insists he would not stand down as head coach of the club and resolved to arrest their downward spiral.
“I am determined to stay even though there ae issues,” Akunnor told State-owned Graphic sports
“I’m unwilling to discuss them now only to focus and encourage the players to win.”
Hearts will take on Real Tamale United at home on Sunday.
I wish the entire team all the best.
Trust, some of us are backing you to stay on. What else do you expect when ppl bring their players and delibrately ingore his requested players. When u feed in garbage, u produce garbage. At our recent AGM, the board n CEO said the policy of the club is to recruit very young players (under 20) so we can benefit from them. some of us even said if that be the case, we should 4get abt the league for the next 5 yrs n concerntrate on the young development policy.
I’ll plead with supporters to leave CK alone n rather ask the recruitment committee to justify the players they brought to Hearts.
Cheers.
WHY didn’t he C.K. come out boldly to tell the world especially the PHOBIA FANS about the non- existent of the so called $2.5 million ? He is equally guilty of aiding and abetting to the annoyance of the fans.
