CK Akunnor is the first coach to be sacked in the Ghana top flight league this season

By Patrick Akoto

CK Akunnor has become the first coaching casualty this season after he was sacked by Hearts on Wednesday.

The ex-Eleven Wise trainer was shown the exit door after he suffered three successive defeats in the Ghana Premier League.

The Board of Directors have wield the axe on the 38-year-old to salvage their poor start to the season, which sees them them lie just above the relegation trap net.

For Akunnor, the news will be devastating for a career that looked so promising when he took up the mantle from Serbian trainer Nebojsa Vucicevic in March 2011.

David Duncan, JE Saprong and Maxwell Konadu have been heavily linked with the vacant job.
