Ghana winger Christian Atsu is delighted to have snatched the match-winner in the 3-2 win over Togo in their Group E Africa Cup of Nations winner on Wednesday.

The Chelsea-owned player, who is on loan at English side Everton, scored in the 86th minute after racing with a loose ball into the box before placing it past the Togo goalkeeper.

Atsu’s goal was registered five minutes after Emmanuel Adebayor had levelled for the Hawks with a powerful header.

He posted on his Twitter page: “So proud to have scored the winner today. Thanks for all your support.”

It was Togo who opened the scoring on 11 minutes through Floyd Ayite and captain Asamoah Gyan equalized on the 24th minute mark.

Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu gave Ghana a 2-1 lead with a fine header ten minutes later before the half-time whistle.
