Berekum Chelsea assures coach Yusif Abubakar his job is safe

Berekum Chelsea have assured coach Yusif Abubkar his job is safe despite some modifications made to the technical bench.
The Blues struggled for consistency in the first half of the Ghanian top flight.
Despite clinching a famous win over champions Asante Kotoko, Chelsea suffered humiliating defeats to Liberty Professionals and Ebusua Dwarfs.
The team’s inconsistencies this season have seen the technical team come under enormous pressure.
There were even rumours of an imminent sack of the former Hearts of Oak trainer.
But management reaffirmed their confidence in Abubakar but effected some changes to the technical bench.
Technical Director Hans Van Der Pluijm will now be actively involved in the training of the side and will also sit amongst members of the technical team on the bench during matches.
The new arrangement has however started drawing some concerns that it is a grand plot to kick out Abubakar but the ex Hearts of Oak coach says he is comfortable with the change.
“I have no problem at all working closely with the technical director,” he told GHANAsoccernet.com.
“I was assured I remained the head coach as the technical director remains the chief advisor of the technical team.
“I rather think it will strengthen us as he comes in with worth of experience which we can tap into to improve the team.”
The new arrangement is expected to beef up the technical team for the attainment of positive results on a regular basis.
Chelsea are hoping to reclaim the Premier League title they lost to Kotoko this season.
They currently lie fourth on the league standings with 25 points – five adrift leader Medeama SC.
