Super Eagles Gbolahan Salami hopes to recover in time to face Ghana in their African Nations Championship semi-final clash on Wednesday.
The 3SC of Ibadan forward has been slowed at the tournament by a thigh injury.
He said that the medical team have been working round the clock to ensure he gets fit again.
“As a player, I am very happy that I am a member of the national team squad. I am happy because this is my first tournament with the national team but I must confess that I nurse a personal sense of disappointment because I have not been playing well due to a thigh injury,” Salami told the Sports Vanguard at the Eagles’ Garden Court de Waal Hotel camp of the team in Cape Town, the striker said,
“They have been treating me twice a day to ensure I return to full fitness.”
