Ceasefire – Nana Ato Dadzie counsels Amidu, NDC & gov’t

Posted On Thursday, 31st May 2012

General News of Thursday, 31 May 2012Source: citifmonline.com A former Chief of Staff under the Rawlings administration, Nana Ato Dadzie, is calling for a truce between Martin Amidu, the NDC party and President J.E.A Mills (government).

Nana Ato Dadzie told Citi News in an interview that “the leadership of the NDC must as a matter of urgency call a truce between Mr. Martin Amidu and the so called or perceived harassers.”

The former Chief of Staff’s comments come on the back of the recent barrage of press statements and comments from Mr. Amidu about the government and some perceived persons whom, according to him, are seeking the downfall of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Nana Ato Dadzie said: “He (Mr. Amidu) has been a senior government member and I hope that this matter would be brought to an end. I have had some 17 minutes chat with him and I think that he’s an NDC member true to the core and the party leadership must really call a truce to bring this matter to a closure.”

“I think the NDC owes it to itself and its members, particularly in the face of the year that we’re in an election year, to try and resolve this matter, put it behind them and look to the bigger battle ahead,” he advised.**
