
Moro Abubakar is in the local Black Stars squad
Ghana has named a 25-man squad list dominated by players of giants Asante Kotoko for this month’s three-nation tournament in Liberia.
The Porcupine Warriors have five players in the squad for the tournament that includes the host nation and Guinea.
The country’s top-flight leading scorer Mahatma Otoo of Hearts of Oak is among three players from the Accra side who will play in the tournament to be held from 24th – 26th May.
Also with three players in the team are Ebusua Dwarfs while Chelsea, Ashgold and All Stars have two players each in the team.
But players in the local league whjo have got good chances of playing in the Black Stars World Cup qualifier against Sudan were excludued.
Goalkeepers Fatau Dauda and Daniel Agyei were not included in the team.
The team will begin its camping at Obuasi on Monday 13th May with players called up from various clubs in the Ghanaian top-flight.

Ghana will play hosts Liberia and Guinea in a three-national tournament in Monrovia later this month.
The local Black Stars will represent the country in the tournament to be held from 24th – 26th May.
The tournament will be played to commemorate of the 50th anniversary of the African Union (AU).
The team will begin its camping at Obuasi on Monday 13th May with players called up from various clubs in the Ghanaian top-flight.

Berekum Chelsea are now three points ahead of the pack in the Ghana Premier League.
Leaders Berekum Chelsea gave their Ghana Premier League title winning chances a shot in the arm by beating Tema Youth 2-1 on Wednesday.
The 2011 champions have a three-point lead with six matches to end the season.
Jackson Owusu scored a wonderful free-kick in first-half stoppage time but Ghana U20 midfielder Moses Odjer levelled for Youth in the 56th minute.
Chelsea were made to work for their win and Obed Owusu clinched the match winner for Yussif Abubakar’s side ten minutes later.
Chelsea struggled to find their rhythm from the start with Youth dominating play at the Golden City Park.
The Blues were without former Ghana youth internationals Latif Salifu and Saddick Adams who are all nursing injuries.
And, that told on their performance as the visitors caused their host to commit errors in midfield.
Captain Abdul Basit was booked for a bad foul on Youth’s James Akaminko while Bismark Idan crashed into Youth keeper Kofi Mensah.
Youth medical staff had to work around the clock to revive the young gloves man.
In the last 10 minutes of the first half, Chelsea took control and registered the opening goal from a wonderful free-kick converted by Jackson Owusu.
Striker Idan was readying to fire at goal when Ghana U20 midfielder Daniel Mensah obstructed him.
Owusu stepped up and darted a powerful shot to the top corner – that marked the end of the first department.
Edward Odoom’s side played with some sort of renewed confidence and eleven minutes after the break, Odjer levelled the scoring for his side.
After Odjer’s leveller, the Blues had a good measure of their visitors and Obed Owusu restored their lead with a sensational strike.

The Ghana Football Association has called for a minute’s silence at Premier League matches on Wednesday to mark the May 9 Accra Stadium disaster.
The week 25 matches are being played one day before the 12th anniversary of the worst football tragedy in Africa.
Over 126 fans perished following a stampede in one of the stands during a league derby between Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko.
The Ghana FA has tasked match officials including referees and match commissioners to make sure it is observed.
Last Sunday, Kotoko players laid a wreath at the stadium before their league match against Hearts of Oak which ended 1-1.
