Cape Verde have handed maiden calls to Julio Tavares and Adilson Carbral for their international friendly against Ghana next week.

The game which will be played in Lisbon on November 13, serves as the only official match for both teams ahead of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.

Tavares, 23, gets his chance to impress with the Blue Sharks following stellar performances for his French club Dijon.

Adilson who play for Sporting Portugal on the other hand also gets his chance to play against the Black Stars.

Cape Verde were originally scheduled to play Angola on the same date but both teams were drawn in the same group at the Nations Cup, prompting the cancellation.

All their best players are in Portugal where Quincy Owusu Abeyie is hailed as a hero, and plays in a better club. And yet AA is afraid to even play Warris or Yiadom for 45 minutes. Warris and Yiaadom would be worshiped in Cape Verde if they were Cape Verdians.
