Cape Verde coach: Mourinho will help me against Ghana

Posted On Friday, 1st February 2013

Lucio Antunes celebrating his side's qualification to the quarter-final

Cape Verde coach Lucio Antunes pretended to be on the phone with Jose Mourinho on Friday after telling reporters the Real Madrid coach would help him in the African Cup quarterfinals.

Antunes could have been joking and engaging in Mourinho-like mind games when he smiled widely when answering a question on whether his good friend Mourinho had helped him guide the underdog team to the last eight.

Antunes said: “Yes, it is true. Today we will be talking after I know what the composition of Ghana’s team is. So yes, we are talking and Jose Mourinho is giving me advice.”

Antunes then held a cellphone to his head and said “Hello, Jose,” as he left the news conference laughing.

a coach lacking self-confidence so has to consult another coach. Football is played on the field and not in the media

  9. selfmade says:

This coach is already defeated from his saying and if he thinks, winning just one match against angola who are notoriously inconsistent makes them a great team, then he is confused!!! Tweatccccchchchchhc ka,if Ghana cannot best these cape verdeans soundly, then it means we have no business of being champions and therefore the wait is still in progress!!! Anybody that stands in our way is as good as dead and tomorrow we done many any flimsy and fucking excuses because we don’t cape verdeans to flood this fucking site to tease us again like that fluke and luck champions fans did!! We shouldn’tb allow cape verde another minnow to use us to enrich and enhanced their pathetic cv……. tomorrow should be their real baptism of fire and we done want any bullshit from the players!!! Viva the revolutionciooooooooo!!!

Folks, let us not get ahead of ourselves, for the race is not always for the swift or the battle for the strong. Let him keep running his traps, however I suggest we don’t get over complacency here. The game has evolved to the point that good players sometimes amounts to nothing. The team with the tactical know hows wins majority of the games today. I suggest we keep our fingers crossed and pray we win most of the battles in the midfield. In my mind, thats what determines the winner. Let us pray folks.
