Ghana Under-17 coach Paa Kwesi Fabian says he cannot promise Ghanaian soccer fans that he will win next year’s African Under-17 Championship in Niger.

The Black Starlets completed the double over Cameroon after defeating the Cubs 4-3 in the reverse fixture of the qualifiers on Sunday.

Despite qualifying to the African championship with a 6-4 aggregrate win, doubts remain about the quality of the team to clinch the title which has remained elusive for many years.

Coach Paa Kwesi Fabian has warned Ghanaian fans not to expect a miracle in Niger.

“Many soccer-loving Ghanaians want us to win African Cup which is a good thing. Of course, we want to go to Niger to win the Cup but at the same time Ghanaians should not crucify the team if we fail to win the tournament,” he said.

“I cannot promise we will win the trophy because there are still lots of work to be done.

“The good thing is to qualify first and then we can take it from there. We have to look at our strength and then the short-falls.

“That is the only way to address issues going forward.

The Ghanaians  have qualified alongside Cote D’voire, Nigeria, Zambia, Mali, Guinea and South Africa.
