We can sacrifice Kwesi Appiah for Ghana but not Ghana for Kwesi Appiah - GFA Ex.Co member MNS Doe

Kwesi Appiah’s future with Ghana has come into question in recent days

Ghana FA Executive Committee member MNS Does suggests Kwesi Appiah be ‘sacrificed’ if he refuses to accept the appointment of a technical director in the best interest of the nation.

The GFA is reportedly gearing up to break the news of their intention to appoint someone to supervise the work of the Black Stars coach once he returns from holidays.

There are however rumours that Kwesi Appiah will reject this decision of the Ghana FA and will offer to step down from his post over his fears of interference.

Coach Appiah has since denied these rumours and insists he will not quit his job.

But Ghana FA Ex.Co member who is the chairman of the Central Region FA MNS Doe says Kwesi Appiah will have to be ‘sacrificed’ if he refuses to give into the Ghana FA’s plans in the best interest of the nation.

“Assuming I am the one calling the shots and we speak to Kwesi Appiah and tell him this is what we want to do and he doesn’t accept then I am afraid to say that we cannot sacrifice Ghana for Kwesi Appiah but rather Kwesi Appiah for Ghana,” he told Cape Coast based ATL FM.

“This is my persona position not that of the FA.”

Appiah presided over Ghana’s worst ever performance at the World Cup in Brazil where the Black Stars failed to make it past the group stage.

Several factors have been blamed for Ghana’s poor showing including the delayed payment of appearance fees to players.

Some however believe the former Black Stars captain is not up to the task and failed to deal with the disciplinary problems within the team that have also been blamed for Ghana’s early exit.

What a foolish comment. What has race or color got to do with coaching a team. We want a competent coach, whether black, brown, yellow, white gray, blue or even an alien if he/she is able to coach and win trophies for Ghana. Stop infusing racism into the fire of Kwesi Appiah. We will go 30yrs with him and not win anything and u think that is better than bringing in a good coach even if he is black from Europe?

Ghana produces world class players, its why all of our players play in Europe where all the best clubs in the world are. Ghana does not produce world class coaches so it makes sense to outsource that job. It has nothing to do with race. I get sick when people like you talk like this.

Stop using the computer you used to type this nonsense. It was made by a white man. I bet you live in a white man’s country. Why dont you go back to Africa and stay there as you hate white leadership. White people lead this world and their policies affect you whether u like it or not. I dont condone any group of people being looked down upon, but getting a good coach has nothing to do with color. FIFA is controlled by white men. Stop playing their game then, and play amppeh.

Why waste money on AA when it is clear he is not up to the job.Get rid of him and appoint somebody who knows what to do.

    • PaaJim says:

Canadian is that your Name or you are hiding your ID. who should be appointed, do you have some one who is better?or can you do it better?.You are the people who are creating problems for the man, you bring your friends or take money from some players and insist that they are been called to the Team although you know that they are not Good for any International match. STOP THIS DISCRIMINATIONS. Let us face the facts and speak the truth.,

      • Canadian says:

Paajim must l put my real name on GSN.You seems like somebody with inferiority issue.Black man, white man and blah, blah, blah .
Have you seen anybody with a white skin colour before.l mean colour white .Emancipate yourself from mental slavery.

  5. PaaJim says:

Mr. Doe what ever you call yourself!! I am asking you one questing please answer it whole heartedly to Ghanaians. Have ever seen a BLACKMAN coaching awhitmans country or as Technical Director or Assistant before or even any Brazilian coach or assistant to any European country?. Why can`t you people do away with this white people!! what a whiteman can do a blackman can also do it same 1. only if you will change from cheating , stealing , corruption, mismanagment . 2. Leave the coach alone to do his work no one should interfere with his selection of players. Leave him to have the upperhand just like the German coach his Technical Assistant or Directors are all old nattional players of the German National Team, you better learn from them to succeed. A whiteman only want your money but nothing less.

    • xoxoKSxoxo says:

      Another foolish comment.

Have you seen any country other than South American or European win the world cup? Since the WC began, it has always been won by these two continents. They are that good that they dont need outside help. Football is well developed in these regions. For Africa to break through we need to learn and get the help from those who have mastered it before we can beat them. Even Kwesi Appiah was sent to England to learn from clubs. Count the number of attachments he went for before the world cup. On one hand we want to be successful and not say we had help for the white man, yet we secretly go there for help. We borrow money from them, when there is Ebola outbreak we cry to them for help and medicine, yet we want to pretend we are fully capable of handling our own affairs. Kwame Nkrumah’s hope is a lie, dont count on it. The white man needs the black man and the black man needs the white man. we are like keys on a piano. without the other we cannot make music. Get a competent coach – black or white, he or she.

Since when Appiah becomes the only black coach in ghana,4 me he have a long way 2 go.he should have step down and gain respect but the ? Is what is next 4 dis man. I as 4 me, I don,T give a fuck what he gonna do next.who cares,

  7. Boro says:

We all know what happened in Brazil and are aware the Failure of the BS is no fault of the technical team but the useless minister who waited till the last minute to naively ailift bonus as if we are country of no sense. No one dare not try such thing because any atempt to hire technical director for the BS will meet all the opposition it deserves.

  8. maubs says:

listen guys whiteman this white man that has nothing to do with this discussion. the best coaches of recent years for england has been foriegners-are ghanaians any prouder than england? look how many coaches at the world cup came from countries other than the one they hail from. do you know what pragmatism means ? have you forgoting what happened to okonkwo in things fall apart because he refuse to move with the times and stick with ancient traditions? ok then may be you dont know this but there are black people not born in africa but who love africa more than some africans love themselves. what about these are you any better than them for that?bs uses players who ply their trade overseas so an overseas coach in charge of bs is no biggie. If you are honest with yourself you will know this that the germany and etc that some one mentions here once had a a style of play encouraged and taught by all clubs at lower level of the game to the top league. When germany won the world cup their manager thanked ancelloti and guardiola for bringing into german football a spanish style which gave a new dimension to their game. Under the two last serbian managers ghana had a set pattern of play, a style in the making which is uniquely bs. my white mates even said to me that ghana play a game not very african, more european and very effective. Do you see a pattern of play which is unique and familiar to the players under AA? listen patriotism is the last bastion of scoundrels and dictators. when they can love other people as themselves they profess to love their country because it is easy to say that. The challenge for ghana coaches is to win african clubs cup trophies because a look on the roll of who has won it dont do ghana much justice nor make m share the view that we have such great great local managers.

  9. Sterlingz says:

Enough of the try nd luck….instead of looking for a technical director …why not fire Akwasi to avoid double bill. Akwasi has done his best but his best is not enough . We need a competent coach or else no trophy for us . Even Zambia has won the trophy in 16 country tier ..whhiles Ghana still fantizes the 8 nations triuohy that we won.

  10. Crusader says:

Those who want Appiah to be the coach doesn’t want a whiteman to be a coach but will prefer Appiah to going for short course at Man City?
Is that not the same whiteman who will tutor him at at Man City? Choosing the best coach has nothing to do with race. Appiah isn’t better than my PE teacher back at School. This argument of Appiah been our own is sickening because Appiah isn’t the only “our own” we have.
Appiah isn’t fit for the job. He himself knows that.

AA please don’t leave your post, we love you dearly in Tamale.
