Berekum Chelsea will play Congolese giants TP Mazembe at their newly constructed stadium on July 22.
The Confederation of African Football confirmed on Tuesday that Mazembe would be allowed to hold their home game at their new 14,500 seater artificial turf.
“We would like to inform you that the match in question will take place at TP Mazembe stadium in Lubumbashi,” Deputy General Secretary Essnam Ahmed confirmed in a letter to the DR Congo club.
Chelsea started their campaign in the group phase of the Caf Champions League with a stunning 3-2 win over Zamalek at home while the 2009 and 2010 champions lost 2-1 at Al Alhy.
The four-time winners played their previous matches this year at the Municpal stadium in Lubumbashi.
Thanks to CAF.This TP Mazembe Stadium is the Grave yard of FOREIGN TEAMS.
I pity Bekerum because they are going to be the fist VICTIM OF BEHEADING.
NB: TP Mazembe does not loose at home. the last time TP lost a champion league game in Lubumbashi was in 1988.
This is ghana e brazil in africa dnt joke wid us.We will kam n surprise u
Berekum Chelsea always suprises big teams in their away matches.always attacking and scoring, unlike London chelsea.Cotton sport,RAJA,KOTOKO etc would all confirm.i think it would be a black day for Mazembe on their new pitch.I’m sorry for T.P
I seriously will love it if the name of this club is changed. Well, perhaps there is a place called Chelsea in Berekum, because as far as I’m concerned Chelsea is not just a word, its a place name. We so much love European stuff more than ours. Very soon, our city names are gonna be like Accra London, Tema-Paris, Kumasi-Milan. Oh Africa!!
