President of Barrack Young Controllers Sekou Konneh has described officials of Asante Kotoko he suspects making bribery allegations against his club as ‘stupid’ and ‘shameless’.

The Liberian side chief is on the rampage following allegations he participated in the bribery of Kotoko goalkeeper Abdoulaye Soulama to give away a cheeky goal to aid their progress in the CAF Champions League at the expense of the Ghanaian heavyweights.

In his latest outburst, Professor Konneh says he suspects these unsubstantiated allegations are being made by officials of Kotoko who want to cover up their ‘ineptitude’ in running the club.

“I am sorry for my expression, but if this is coming from Kotoko or officials of Kotoko then it means Kotoko officials are very stupid,” he told Metro FM.

“How could I have bribed anyone?

“In your own backyard we scored despite they [Kotoko] scoring from two dubious penalties.

“How could I have bribed the goalkeeper? This is shameless.

“No Ghanaian in the rightful mind will think that way.

“Ghanaians are too intelligent for this kind of allegation which is emanating from elsewhere.

“But I also strongly think that the leaders of Kotoko are trying to hide their ineptitude or their inability to run the team properly so they want to blame an innocent person for their woes.”

The Liberian club according to Metro FM sources are considering reporting Kotoko to CAF over the serious but unsubstantiated allegations.

BYC eliminated Kotoko in just the first qualification round of this season’s Champions League on the away goals rule.

Kotoko took a slim 2-1 advantage into the second leg played in Monrovia but were unable to protect it as they suffered a 1-0 loss to crash yet again out of the competition.
