Burkina Faso coach Paul Put believes Ghana and Cote dââ¬â¢Ivoire will be the best performing African teams at the World Cup in Brazil.
The Black Stars have been drawn in Group G alongside Germany, USA and Portugal while the Elephants are in Group C with Colombia, Greece and Japan.
Ghana have been Africaââ¬â¢s most performing team at the two previous World Cups in Germany in 2006 and then four years ago in South Africa.
The Black Stars came mighty close to a historic semi final qualification at the last edition but for a penalty shootout defeat to Uruguay in the game Ghana should have really won especially with Luis Suarez scooping out a goal-bound header with his hands late on in the game.
Put who led Burkina Faso to a famous win against Ghana in the semi finals of the 2013 Nations Cup is backing the Black Stars once more again to make Africa proud though adding Ivory Coast to his list of Africaââ¬â¢s hopefuls in Juneââ¬â¢s tournament in Brazil.
ââ¬ÅI think with Ghana and Ivory they are big football nations so I have a lot of confidence in their performance and they have the players with experience to do well,â⬠he told GHANAsoccernet.com.
ââ¬ÅThey have the best quality to produce a great performance at the World Cup.ââ¬
Ghana will open its World Cup campaign on June 16 against USA in Natal before facing Germany four days later in Fortaleza.
The Black Stars will then finish off the group phase with a potential cracking game against Portugal on June 24 in Brasilia.
