Burkina Faso edged through to the final round of qualifying for the 2014 FIFA world Cup after a 1-0 home win over Gabon on Saturday.
That result, coupled with Congo’s 2-2 draw in Niger, means the Burkinabe top their Group E.
The only goal of the game was scored in the 54thminute by Prejuce Nakoulma, enough to give the hosts the three points.
Gabon were also in with a chance of qualifying before the game started, but needed a handsome win and for Congo to lose. In the end they finished third in the pool.
Burkina Faso, finalists in the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations, will hope to reach their first ever World Cup finals in Brazil next year.
