Razak Brimah in action for Mirandes

Goalkeeper Razak Brimah signed off his club duties on a winning note after helping CD Mirandes to a 2-1 win at Racing Santander on Saturday and is now heading to Ghana to join the Black Stars camp for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The 27-year-old who was in full time action for his side on Saturday, has already left his base in Spain and is expected to arrive in the country this evening before the Ghana camp commences on Monday.

Mirandes raced into a 2-0 lead through an own goal by Ruper and one other from Cesar Caneda in the game played at the Campos de Sport de El Sardinero.

The host however pulled one back in the 61st minute with a Mariano Sanz strike and made a late push for the equalizer.

But a resolute defensive display by Mirandes, coupled with some impressive saves by the Ghana goalkeeper ensured Carlos Terrazas’ side came away with all three points and preserved their unbeaten start to the season in the Spanish second tier.

Mirandes are now third in the Segunda Division having won one and drawn the other in the two games played in the league.

Razak Brimah now turns his sights on competing for a starting place for the Black Stars in their opening 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Uganda on September 6 in Kumasi.

The team will then travel to face neighbours Togo four days later in the second match of the qualifying series for next year’s finals.
