Boost for Ghana in AFCON qualifiers as goalkeeper Brimah set to make injury return this weekend
Razak Brimah back in training at Mirandes

Ghana goalkeeper Razak Brimah has returned to full scale training with his Spanish club having undergone surgery last weekend to fix a broken jaw.

The 27-year-old return to the CD Mirandes’ training grounds on Wednesday evening and is in line to start for the side in Sunday’s league game at Real Betis.

Brimah had undergone successful surgery last Friday to fix a broken jaw he picked up while on international duty with the Black Stars in the opening 2015 AFCON qualifiers against Uganda and Togo.

The ex FC Nania shot-stopper lost one of his tooth after emerging worse off in a clash with Jordan Ayew during one of Ghana’s training sessions earlier this month.

He however played on his return to Mirandes but in a protective mask.

The club took measures to permanently address Brimah’s injury, hence the surgery which was originally estimated to keep the Black Stars goalkeeper out for at least three weeks.

But Brimah has made a tremendous recovery and is now in line to start the weekend’s Segunda Division game against Real Betis.

His return has also been very timely as the Black Stars squad for next month's 2015 AFCON qualifiers against Guinea is said to be announced.
