Breaking News: Nyantakyi set to retain Ghana FA president position unopposed, contenders fail to return nominations papers
Kwesi Nyantakyi will elected unopposed in next month's election

Kwesi Nyantakyi looks to be cruising to his third term in office unopposed as the President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) after he emerged as the only person to have filed his papers to stand next month's election, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

The GFA confirmed that out of the four candidates who picked their forms to contest the presidential seat, just Nyantakyi filled and returned it by the Friday 5pm deadline.

A purported court injunction to stop the election process failed to materialise as the GFA insisted that they have not been served with any court order to prevent the Elections Committee of the GFA from going ahead with the process.

This means Nyantakyi remains the only candidate for the election to be held in Tamale next month and according to the statutes of the GFA he will be re-elected unopposed if the Elections Committee clears him.

If the supposed injunction fails to stop the process it means that the popular GFA president will be confirmed unopposed by the congress, Ghana's leading football news website www.ghanasoccernet.com can reveal.
