Kevin-Prince Boateng and Sulley Muntari have been sacked from Ghana’s World Cup camp hours before their crucial 2014 Group G against Portugal in Brasilia, GHANASoccernet.com can confirm.

Boateng was told to leave the team’s hotel in Brasilia for insubordination and confronting head coach Kwesi Appiah in training.

The Schalke 04 ace first clashed with the coach after criticizing his team selection in their opening 2-1 defeat to the USA in Natal.

Boateng claimed he deserved to start after coming off the bench in the 59th minute

Muntari is alleged to have become violent against Ghana Football Association Executive Committee and Black Stars management committee member Moses Armah.

The AC Milan was ineligible for the final match due to suspension after picking up a double yellow cards.

  15. kuukuphilly says:

This Is a shame,u have Ur own black coach and yet u refuse to give him the respect hes due.

  16. A concerned citizen says:

What triggered all this confusion….unpaid appearance fee coupled with coach AA’s putting square pegs in a round holes…

  17. AfrikaBoy says:

That is why I agree with Nigeria Coach Keshi to not bring in some players even talented ones because he knows some can sabotage the team. SO disappointed in KPB. He didn’t even do anything good on the filed.

We have to stop hiring foreign coaches just to give players their white little masters to whom they will submit like slaves. It’s time to tell them that we’ll get our own coaches and if you want to play you’ll have to submit because when they go play for foreign countries, they submit like little children.

No one will tell me that we can’t produce Local competent African coaches. We can produce great players, we can also produce coaches. We just need to support them and back their authority when in place.

This being said, Football Wise I can’t understand why AA did not start KPB against the USA. That was a bad decision in my opinion to start J. Ayew and Rabiu instead.

  18. black tonymontana says:

we lack values as a people that’s why that shitty boy, kevin was begged to come n play for us….kwasi u deserve his behavior n attitude, some us warned you.go find out why the germans dispensed with him.all Ghanaians know is give respect to people who earn more than they do or come from a certain background.we should have unleashed some of the supporters in brazil to teach him a lesson before he left the hotel

  19. Pasi says:

Laughing stock of this world cup!!! what a disgrace to Mother Ghana. Enough of this concert party!! Its only a miracle if indeed Ghana wins today. Bois Abr3!!

  20. selfmade says:

Ever since I was born, I have never ever seen Ghanaian teams fighting over monies in international tournaments and for the first time, this present Adm has disgrace us!

I have heard a lot of stories about how how this country has become hard and maybe there is truth afterall?!

The germans obviously knew something about KPB that we didn’t know of!! Is so so sad that the center cannot hold!

Ghana has become another BANANA REPULIC!

  21. Truth says:

KPB is not the Problem…i would have done the same!! it’s that idiot AA who thinks they should run after his whistle, but he himself doesn’t know sh*t! No more foreign coaches, we need european coaches that know soemthing about tactical Football!! it’s a shame a real shame…and for everyone of u hating on KPB u are the same People who wanted AA as Coach, because u thought we don’t Need europeans…i hope u guys learned a lession now. Stupid AA…he destroyed the Team…not playing KPB against USA was the beginning of the END!

    • Truth says:

But let us not think negativ..that’s not the ghanian way we have tho belive and Support the Team now…the match will go as God wants to…after the Wolrd Cup changes must be made!
      GO GHANA GOO GHANA GOOAL!!

    • Ghanafan says:

      @Truth

You speak 100% correct. And now look what happened… because of stupid AA and his “tactics” Ghana was not a cohesive unified team and basically lost themselves the WC.

I don’t care if a player is “local” or not…. PLAY THE BEST PLAYERS TO INSURE VICTORY. Don’t let GFA and politics decide the tactics on the field, let the players and their skill be the deciding factor.

Shame. Shame. Shame on you AA… your weak mindedness has cost Ghana the WC and disgraced to the world.

  22. Mumbi says:

This is good news. Blackout Stars!!!

  23. Piotoo says:

This is what happens when you hire a mediocre kumasi coach as a national team coach. Things have fallen apart and I wish sulley Nyantakyi too. The whole FA is corrupt and AA must go. He is tactically bankrupt. Akwesi Appiah is just looking for a reason for his failure knowing very well there’s a little chance he can progress in the tournament.

  24. Piotoo says:

This is what happens when you hire a mediocre kumasi coach as a national team coach. Things have fallen apart and I wish sulley had slapped Nyantakyi too. The whole FA is corrupt and AA must go. He is tactically bankrupt. Akwesi Appiah is just looking for a reason for his failure knowing very well there’s a little chance he can progress in the tournament.

  25. AfrikaBoy says:

I Give to these coaches that leave out players under enormous pressures because they knew these players were not good for team cohesion.

France Didier Deschamps leaving Samir Nasri
    USA Klinsman leaving Donovan
    Nigeria Keshi leaving Uche
    Argentina Sabella leaving Tevez

Appiah is new to this he’ll learn from this experience for the future.
Better go to a competition and lose with class rather than having a couple of rotten apples that embarrass you in from of the whole world.

  26. thankGodamnotanigerians says:

These guyz are not ghanaians .how can a n ali muntari b from konongo hes an immigrant worrying ghana football, his face mpo shd tell u hes from niger or sometin. As 4 that opportunist fool called kp de3 saaa koaa no God go punish am.

  27. Gimli says:

KPB shouldn’t even make the selection in the first place. Ghana doesn’t need selfish, spoiled brats like him. As for Muntari… well he is Muntari and that says it all. A big mouth. And a big mouth in a case of a team that’s lacking discipline, will always strike the loudest and hardest. There is no particular reason to know what ecactly caused his erruption. It was a matter of time. Oh, i miss the good ol days, i miss Rajevac :(…

  28. Akwetey says:

Well it’s official; Coach Appiah has lost the locker room.

  29. Fiifi usa says:

    Everything happens for a reason
Horses are prepared for the battle but victory comes for God
Let still stand by the blackstars
And I believe we will go thru

  30. Fiifi, Berlin says:

This was inevitable! Inexperience on oneside and over-bloated egos on the otherside. For the first time we had GFA and the sports ministry handling the whole show based on “Ghana can manage its own affairs” model! At this model every official is “OGGA”, and they throw their weights about as if they are “Sumui” (lead)! Busy about nothing. Important issues and challenges are handled with the words “keep cool chalie!” A ya , the ego-trips of non-performing “divas”; Attack is the best defence! The whole problem is an old one ; GFA OPERATES ALWAYS ON A ZIG-ZAG COURSE.

  31. CARTELMAN says:

Yobo, Osaze, Taiwo of the then Everton, Westbrom and Marsiale respectively wanted to throw thier weigths about but Keshi brought them all to their knees. Mikel wanted to flex his muscle but keshi made him look ordinary before Dickson Etuhu of the then FullHam England. In Afcon 2013 9jas’ most prolific striker enroute the Afcon “Ikechukwu Uche” wanted to sabotage the coach, he axed him too and everybody was against Keshi 4 all his verdicts but today we are singing him praises because we couldnt see what he saw coming then…. Today we thank him 4 his courage in averting those doom. Even some FA members and ex-eagle stars who never loved Keshi were calling for his head for axing Yobo,Osaze, Taiwo, Raheem Lawal, Uche etc from his team but Keshi never trembled,, and today he has shamed them all by the performances the Eagles have been puting up from the Afcon through this worldCup. He made the egoistic players learn thier lesson the hard way that they(the axed ones) had to beg to play for 9ja again. Keshi never begged them, rather they begged Keshi and since then, they sat up. That was what i expected AA to do rather than go about beggin players(Gyan, Essien,Ayews,Kpb,muntari etc) to come represent their father land. I was so ashamed when i heard that the number one citizen of Ghana(the president), stoop so low as to begging the Ayew brothers to come outta their self imposed exile…what a disgrace to Ghana. Such thing will never happen in 9ja,, if u doubt it, ask Victor Anichebe of Westbrom. The president would rather suspend the whole team than go begging them to represent the nation. I feel 4u AA because i believe u made those mistakes out of pressure from the FA. Learn ur lessons and next time, thread the path of da brave Keshi. God bless Africa

  32. askantwi says:

I believe Essien, Andre and Jordan Ayew may be involved in this commotion. The Black Stars are full of indiscipline players.

  33. chester says:

our beloved Black stars have disgraced Mother Africa just like the Cameroonians..They should just leave the Portugal match, pack their luggage and come back…WHAT A DISGRACE…SHAME UNTO THEM!!!!!

  34. apiangalege says:

I said it the other day that KPB is a German mole in the Black star and it is clear now. Well, serve Ghana right for being too obsessed with self glorification: “we ll be the best African team in the world cup,all other African countries ll disgrace Africa except Ghana”..bla bla!.Now see who is the disgrace. Ego,pomposity, disrespect,’proudness’ arrogance has finally finished Ghana. For now there s a straw to cling to by deluded and gullible Ghanaians who can believe anything: the false prophecy of the so called Ghanaian prophet that Ghanaian will win today and qualify for the next round.

  35. sharky says:

This is both good news and bad news. It will pave the way for both Agyeman Badu and Maajeed Waris to start today’s game and also in the subsequent games when we qualify to the next stage.

  36. Boro says:

This is a situation you could have avoided if you had followed in the same line as Stephen Keshi. I thought you said you have total confidence in all your players? I wonder what Essien is still doing in the BS camp. This is always the end results when you have someone as dumb as AA as your coach. Do you think Didier Dechamp was a fool when he drpped Nasri in his squad?

  37. isquared says:

Despite ALL the distractions and missteps, BS might still progress to the round of 16 if we beat Portugal and Germany beats US. But based on everything, including player selection issues and inadequate preparations, the OVERALL MISMANAGEMENT of a very good set of BS players falls on the shoulders of the Ministry of Sports and the GFA. Regardless of Ghana’s final status in this World Cup (even if we win the cup), the leadership of the GFA and Ministry of Sports must be sacked. Ultimately, the technical team including coach Appiah must go as we need a very competent and world-class technical team to bring out the best in this very promising set of players. The future BS team should be built around KWADWO ASAMOAH in the playmaking central midfield role with Dede, Gyan, Atsu, Warris playing key roles. If Ghana starts the rebuilding process sooner than later, we have enough young and experienced talent to win Afcon 2015, 2017 plus WC2018!!!

  38. Skonaap says:

Why everybody blaming the players? Why are we taking side? Please Ghanaians we are better than that. The management needs to be blamed rather than the players. Everybody is crying within them and it’s better if one comes out to voice out. Then you treat the person as an escape goat.
I blame the management and instead of the coach being there for his team, he’s rather for the gfa. Because if he doesn’t support gfa, he will be fired. I don’t think gfa can do this to any foreign coach. The boys are there because they love their country….look at the way Muntari Dede, Kwodwo….and the rest of them playing. We have to respect our players too. Give to cesar what is due to him…… the secret of what coaches is respect the player. The management don’t expect the players to be nice when anyone can talk to the players any how.
I will blame the coach for not able to protect his team. Management not willing to pay the players, trying to treat them like the way teachers, nurses, and other professions.
Common folks, let put our legs in their shoes. The Coach has to protect his players. For me if you tell me sacking Muntari is a good idea, I will definitely disagree. So far he has been the best player, leader, hard working on the field. Now I know that the boys are not happy in camp. I’ve been there before and you always want to play with certain players because their presence, ability, trust that he can make thigs happen when given the little chance, help the players.

  39. boakyewaa says:

    skonap…i do second your opinion…

  40. GODFIRST says:

AM PROUD OF Muntari ,AND SAMUEL OSEI KUFFOUR WILL BE PROUD OF U TOO,THIS IS HOW WE ARE WE DON’T WANT THE TRUTH
