Ghana coach Maxwell Konadu has named an attacking line-up to face Libya in Saturday’s CHAN final but unfit striker Yahaya Mohammed will start from the bench.

Mohammed picked up a knee injury in the semi-final clash against Nigeria on Wednesday and could not win the fitness battle.

King Faisal forward Sulley Mohammed makes a return and will replace the Asante Kotoko ace.

He will partner Ghana Premier League goal king Seidu Bansey, who is yet to find the back of the net.

Right-back Godfred Saka makes a return from injury to take up his position.

Abeiku Ainooson replaces suspended Kwabena Adusei in central defence.

Konadu has maintained clubmates Michael Akuffo and Jordan Opoku in midfield and wingers Theophilus Anobaah and Asiedu Attobrah have been retained.

It is a typical 4-4-2 formation after Konadu promised to vary his strategy for this final match.

Kickoff is at 20:00 hours GMT at the Cape Town Stadium.

Ghana’s starting XI against Libya: Stephen Adams -Abeiku Ainooson, Godfred Saka-Nuru Sulley, Joshua Tijani – Michael Akuffo, Jordan Opoku, Asiedu Attobrah, Theophilus Anobaah – Seidu Bansey, Sulley Mohammed

Do you think Maxwell Konadu has picked the right men to play Libya in the rematch of their Group C match:

In my opinion Yahaya should not have started even if he was fit after abysmal performance in his last two games but this is a good starting lineup just hope Sulley Mohammed will also not resort to unnecessary visiting to the ground whenever Ghana attacks. Also try to flick aerial balls with his head when the Goalkeeper plays the ball deep into the opponent side instead of trying to control it.

I am not happy that Yahaya got injured but I am happy that he is not going to start in this final the finals. His performance at the last two games has been abysmal since what he has succeeded in doing best for the last two matches is to fall to the ground or passes to the opponent anytime Ghana team has the opportunity to attack. I have always said that this guy has a stamina problem. There was not a single ball got to him that he was able to stand on his ground. I hope his replacement is not going to be Sule since he is also suffering from this same disease and therefore drops down the perking as well. Bancey has been excellent since he started playing. He has been pressing very well anytime Ghana loses the ball in the opponents half and his control and passes also good what is missing in his play at this point is a serious player to partner him upfront. Although, I did not see much from Afful as much of the time he played was when Ghana was playing with ten men and we mostly relied on counter attacks I believe he did more than enough to earn a starting role in the final game because Sulley Mahamed was given a chance and have allowed it to slip by not being aggressive and ruthless in attack. He too was constantly falling to the ground. I am sure you will listen once again as you did in the case of Atobbrah.

Some1 pls tell me what is wrong with this statement “It is a typical 4-4-3 formation after Konadu promised to vary his strategy for this final match.”
It seems that http://www.ghanasoccernet.com didn’t do any proof reading before posting this article.

    WHAT IS 4-4-3 FORMATION?

Soccernet stop confusing people. 4-4-3 formation means how many players per team?

Bad technique. Don’t play a line striker if you only have Yaya as your ‘striker’
