Striker Eric Bekoe’s move to Kotoko collapses

Eric Bekoe's move to Kotoko hangs in the balance

By Patrick Akoto

Eric Bekoe’s proposed move to Ghanaian champions Asante Kotoko has collapsed, GHANAsoccernet.com can reveal.

The 25-year-old underwent a successful medical at the club last month but contractual disagreements have stalled the move.

It was widely believed the former Heart of Lions man had put pen-to-paper on a six month deal but that seems to have hit the rocks after reports emerged he was unhappy with the terms of the contract.

Kotoko acting Executive Chairman Jerry Asare has revealed negotiations between the two parties have buckled.

“I have received an email from his representative saying something different from what was agreed,” Asare told Kumasi- based Fox FM

“We all sat down and agreed on the terms. Before both parties left the negotiation table we all had an understanding with all the figures cleary spelt out.

“And that is why he joined the team at their pre-season camping base. It was later that I heard that his representative had changed certain things in the contract.

“He still has some problems and so we may have to go back and see how it goes. Everything was made clear and based on that there was an agreement.

“I am surprised at the sudden u-turn of the other party demanding this and that. We have made it clear on what we can offer. It is difficult at the moment.

“I am studying the mail and will call Eric and talk to him.”

The news will be a massive blow to the Porcupine Warriors who were keen on adding the goal machine to their ranks ahead of their title defence this season.

Bekoe is eager to return to the top and has never hidden his desire to relaunch his career with his boyhood club.

so many factors are involve here, his agent is demanding too much money for his services and more so kotoko is not happy with just a years’ contract, which means his contract will be over just when they need him most for africa..

just find a way to let him play with Kotoko, ifnot we’ll never see Bekoe with Black Stars

Ah but this doesn’t mean the deal has collapsed. So wht will u write if the deal is sorted out?. By the way, I thk they’ve gotten a lucrative deal for him somewhere that’s why they want to do tht u-turn to terminate what ever agreement they signed. trust me with this greedy so call agents.

Bekoe should put dis in his head dat,he came back to kotoko to regain his form.he shouldn’t think dat he was wat he use to be. Now his form has deformed so he should forget about the money and concentrate to regain his form.
