Chelsea part company with manager Roberto Di Matteo

Roberto Di Matteo has been sacked by Chelsea

Chelsea have sacked manager Roberto Di Matteo following a run of poor results, including last night’s Champions League defeat to Juventus.

The west London club have reacted swiftly to the 3-0 loss in Italy last night which took their hopes of reaching the last 16 out of their hands, and put them at risk of becoming the first holders to fail to reach the subsequent knockout phase.

The Blues have also failed to win any of their last four Premier League games, a run which has seen them slip from top to four points behind leaders Manchester City.

A statement from club released this morning said: “Chelsea Football Club has parted company this morning with manager Roberto Di Matteo.

“The team’s recent performances and results have not been good enough and the owner and the Board felt that a change was necessary now to keep the club moving in the right direction as we head into a vitally important part of the season.

“The club faces a difficult task ahead in qualifying for the knockout stages of the UEFA Champions League as well as maintaining a strong challenge for the top of the Premier League while competing in three other cup competitions. Our aim is to remain as competitive as possible and challenge strongly on all fronts.

“The owner and the Board would like to thank Roberto for all he has done for the club since taking over in March. Roberto helped guide us to an historic Champions League victory and a seventh FA Cup. We will never forget the huge contribution he has made to this club’s history and he will always be welcome at Stamford Bridge.

“The club will be making an announcement shortly regarding a new first team manager.”

This was expected by many long before. Ramires and a fewother brilliant players were saving your ass but you cant expect that always. Ramires is a player, WHAT! he won the UEFA for chelsea last season with that brilliant chip equalising effort and yesterday he was the reason chelsea only suffered just a 3 nil whipping. Could have been worse. Put Ramires in a team like Barcelona and they will never loose. We need a Ramires in the midfield of Ghana anf Kwadwo Asamoah has clearly not delivered, i suggest we try Wakaso and leave Kwadwo asamoah as a Leftmidfielder. Ayew and Wakaso both have speed and can dribble but wakaso has good shot than ayew. so Ayew should be on the right or operating just upfront with the striker.

    Dear Di Matteo,

I am very happy to write you these few words of mine. Life is tough, but it’s tougher when you’re stupid. It’s perfectly legal to be stupid at times but some people just completely take advantage. A word to the wise ain’t necessary – it’s the stupid ones that need the advice. An intelligent hell would be better than a stupid paradise. The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser men so full of doubts. Madam, Di Matteo, if you need help bark like a dog. Daneamah!

    Yours faithfully

    Signed
    Oti Asirifi

  6. Ansong says:

Tactically blind kumasi coach is next right after AFCON.wise up*

  7. Wasky says:

Well done Abramovich, you did well by sacking that RDM.He nearly ruined the career of Michael Essien by conspiring wtih that Nigerian man in the technical team to put him on the bench for Mikel Obi.I think that man should be the next to go.How can you succeed when you have sold the only two defensive midfielders(Michael Essien and Raul Mereiles)who can do the job of strikers when things are tough and leave Mikel Obi who has never scored any goal for the club.

  8. David says:

why should a good coach leave out his good player, u let ur best player go and u keep mikel obi, who is a backward player can not move ball forward, i know that it will happen to him

  9. BlackStar-Tactician says:

We all saw this one coming. It was just a matter of time!

THE INUTE DI MATEEO STARTED LEAVING OFF ESSIEN AND STARTING MIKEL IS WHEN I KNEW HIS DAYS WERE NUMBERED. DI MATTEO IS NOT A LOYAL GUY. HE IS A BACKSTABBER. HE HAS BACKSTABEED ALL THE WAY UP UNTIL THIS POINT IN HIS VERY SHORT TIME AS COACH. HE STARTED WITH WEST BROM ALBION. HE SHOULD HAVE STAYED THERE. HE IS GREEDY AND WANTS FAST FAME. HE WASNT LOYAL TO ALBION AND JUMPED SHIP WHEN HE GOT THE DEPUTY JOB WITH CHELSEA. WHILES THERE, HE BACKSTABBED VILLAS BOAS. HE MANAGED TO GET ALL THE PLAYERS ON HIS SIDE AND THE PLAYERS BOUGHT INTO HIM. ONCE HE BECAME THE FULLTIME COACH, HE CHANGED. HE TURNED HIS BACK ON THE VETERANS LIKE ESSIEN, DROGBA, KALOU, TERRY, MALOUDA…..AND PREFERRED THE LIKES OF HIS NEWERPLAYERS. THAT HAS CAUSED PLAYERS TO LEAVE THE CLUB AND CREATED INTERNAL DIVISION BETWEEN THE SENIOR PLAYERS AND THE NEWER ONES. THE CHAIN IS NOW BROKEN. NO ONE TRUSTS DI MATTEO ANYMORE. NOW LOOK AT WHO HAS BEEN BACKSTABBED…..

I TILD YOU SO. I EVEN PREDICTED THIS. NEXT TO BE FIRED WILL BE KP BOATENG….
