Egypt coach Bob Bradley has faint hopes the Pharaohs can offset the 6-1 first leg deficit and advance to next year's World Cup finals in Brazil at the expense of Ghana.
The Black Stars churned out an impressive performance to take a commanding lead in the first leg of the epic tie at the Baba Yara Stadium on Tuesday.
A brace by captain Asamoah Gyan plus goals from Abdul Majeed Waris, Sulley Muntari , Christian Atsu and an own goal saw Ghana produce the most shocking result of the African first leg playoff.
The massive result has all but seen Ghana book its place at next year’s World Cup in Brazil.
But Egypt’s American coach, Bradley, is refusing to give in despite admitting his side's chances are "nearly impossible".
"The World Cup means so much to every country and I believe it meant more to the people in Egypt," he said after the match.
"The dream of going to the World Cup was what kept our team united during these two years with all that has gone on.
"But today we’ve seen that dream become nearly impossible.
"Ghana is a proud football nation and today their players, their fans, the emotions, the passion for the game, the talent, it all came through in a way that Ghana can be proud but it takes away the dream that we’ve all worked for for the past three years."
Bradley has an even more difficult job in maintaining a same or even better level of motivation within his team to turn up for next month’s return encounter.
