John Boye has expressed mild disappointment at Ghana’s defeat to Japan in the international friendly match played on Tuesday with him as interim captain.

The Stade Rennes defender took over the captain’s role in the absence of substantive Asamoah Gyan in the friendly match against the Asian giants.

The Black Stars eventually lost 3-1 to the Blue Samurai despite taking a first half lead.

The poor result in the friendly played in Yokohama has left stand-in captain Boye quite disappointed even though he prefers to look ahead.

“I am a little bit disappointed but this is a game and everything happens for a reason,” he said.

“We now have to go back and do our homework well and ensure we learn from our mistakes.

“The Japanese used their full squad, we didn’t so we hope to learn from this.”
