Ghana has been handed a massive injury boost ahead of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations with the imminent return to action of Turkish-based defender John Boye.

The 27-year-old has been out for almost two weeks with a thigh strain but has returned to full scale training and is in line to play for Kayseri Erciyesspor in Saturday’s league game at Istanbul Basaksehir.

Boye’s return to training is god news for Ghana as the defender will be fully fit to join the Black Stars for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.

There were subtle fears the former Rennes man could miss next year’s tournament due to complications associated to his mild injury.

But Boye has shaken off the injury and has been involved in full scale training with his club since late last week.

He is likely to play his first game on his injury return this weekend to serve as further proof of his full recovery.

Boye has been limited to 10 games for Kayseri Erciyesspor this season mainly due to injuries.

His return to getting precious game time in Turkey will come as a big relief for Ghana coach Avram Grant who is hoping to have all his available players ready for January’s AFCON to be staged in Equatorial Guinea.
