Ghana have been boosted by the return to action of Germany based defender Baba Abdul Rahman ahead of next month's crucial World Cup qualifier against Zambia, GHANAsoccernet.com can reveal.

The Greuther Furth left-back has returned to action after recovering from teeth surgery in Germany which ruled him out of the start of the Bungesliga II season.

His return is a big boost for Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah who will be missing left-back Richard Kissi for the match against Zambia because he is suspended.

Baba is the perfect replacement for the TP Mazembe even though Harrison Afful can also play at the left-back position apart from the right-back.

The 19-year-old played his first game for Greuther Furth this season in a friendly which they won 10-1 against a lower division opponent last Wednesday.

He is likely to play for the club on Sunday night when they take on Kaiserslautern in a league game having trained with the first team on Friday.

He is not part of the team to play Turkey in a friendly on Wednesday.

The Greuther Furth left-back underwent the operation last month to solve the minor problem which has been outstanding for several months.

Doctors ruled him out of action for three weeks following the surgery, also allowing him time to rest after a hectic off season.

The defender was part of the Black Stars in the double World Cup qualifiers against Sudan and Lesotho in June before playing at the U20 World Cup.
