Boateng storms Ghana camp, debunks Fulham block threats

Derek Boateng joins Ghana camp in the UAE

By Ameenu Shardow

Derek Boateng has joined the Ghana camp in the UAE – making absolute nonsense of rumours he will be barred by Fulham.

The 29-year-old is on the verge of completing a loan move to the English club after successfully passing a medical during the week.

Rumours however surfaced that Fulham have inserted a clause in the deal offered preventing Boateng from joining the Black Stars team for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.

The FC Dnipro player however met up with the rest of his international teammates in Abu Dhabi and fully participated in the first training session on Saturday.

His arrival in camp had rubbished these rumours while boosting Ghana in the process.

Only Asamoah Gyan and Andre Ayew are yet to join the team to complete the Black Stars line up in the UAE.

The team is expected to continue with their training schedule on Sunday ahead of their first warm up game against Egypt on January 10.
