Boampong's recovery excites Hearts

Posted On Tuesday, 1st May 2012

Phillip Boampong is recovering well from a wrist injury

Ghana Premier League side Hearts of Oak claim injured defender Philip Boampong is making progress in the treatment.

The centre-back ruptured his right wrist ligaments early this season and underwent surgery in Accra last month.

“Boampong is back on course for a full recovery and we are all very pleased about this,” the medical team said.

“The player himself is delighted and he has begun to do light physios, which is good news. He will continue to work under the guidance of the medical team and the team for some period to regain his full strength.”

Boampong was member of Ghana’s Under-20 side that won the FIFA Under-20 World Championship in Egypt.

He is the younger brother of former Hearts defender Dan Coleman.
