Ghana will camp in either USA or Europe ahead of the World Cup

Ghana are planning to hold their pre-tournament camping for the 2014 World Cup in the USA or Europe, the Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah has revealed.

Appiah says an early camping for the Black Stars at the end of the football season in Europe could give them the much-needed preparation ahead of the tournament in Brazil in June.

The Black Stars have been drawn in a tough Group G at the tournament in Brazil where they will face Germany, Portugal and the United States.

With the weather in America and Europe similar to that of Brazil during the World Cup, coach Appiah says they are likely to camp in one of those regions.

“We will be camping either in America or Europe - that is the program the Ghana Football Association are designing," Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah said.

"That will give me the chance to (closely) monitor some of the players as well. As we all know some of our best players are injured and I will have to be with team to know their strength.

“We have to prepare well for the World Cup. As I always say coaching the Black Stars is not really difficult but managing them off and on the pitch is the problem.

"We will have to start camping now, knowing where will suit the team so we can have time to prepare well for the competition."

The Black Stars will be making their third successive appearance at the World Cup.
