Ghana FA President Kwesi Nyantakyi has dismissed reported of the imminent disbandment of the entire technical team following the sacking of coach Kwesi Appiah.

The GFA claim they parted ways with Appiah mutually a day after leading Ghana to a vital 3-2 win over Togo in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

With a new coach expected to be appointed by the end of the month, reports are rife the existing technical team will be dissolved to make way for the setting up of a new one.

Goalkeeper’s trainer Nassam Yakubu and Team Manager Sabahn Quaye are reported to be on their way out with assistant coach Maxwell Konadu being retained.

But GFA boss Kwesi Nyantakyi has dismissed these claims – describing them as lies – and that the technical team remain at post.

“The technical team remains intact. I don’t know where these stories are coming from,” he said.

“There are a lot of lies in the system. No discussions touched on dissolving the technical team.

“So the entire technical team with the exception of Kwesi Appiah remain at post.”

Assistant coach Maxwell Konadu has taken interim charge of the team but is expected to be replaced with a substantive appointment before next month’s 2015 AFCON qualifiers against Guinea.
