Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah and three members of his backroom staff will tour the United Kingdom for a knowledge-sharing exercise ahead of the 2014 World Cup finals.

The quartet will spend some days at Liverpool and also interact with League Managers Association.

Appiah will be joined by his assistant, Maxwell Konadu, Goalkeepers’ coach Nassam Yakubu, Team Doctor Adam Baba and Video Analyst Michael Okyere.

The delegation will spend time with the LMA at St. George’s Park, the national training center for England, to share ideas with some of the leading coaches in England.

The trip has been organized by Black Stars headline sponsor Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) and its business partners, Tullow Ghana Limited (TGL) and Standard Chartered Bank.

They will leave Accra on 21 March.

“GNPC is excited at the opportunity for our Black Stars’ technical team to shape up in the UK especially at this time that the English Premier League has become a thriller. We are hopeful that this tour will go a long way in helping Kwasi Appiah and his team in readiness for the World Cup,” Alex Mould, Chief Executive of GNPC said.

“We are grateful to our partners, for agreeing to support the Black Stars in this technical build-up.”

AA is just going to go chop the tax payers money. i mean after all these years as an assistant, and many attachments in europe, u r still tactically bankrupt. what will this trip provide that the previous ones failed to do?

  2. selfmade says:

Appiah go and upgrade your knowledge more because u have been able to qualify Ghana to the WC and of course u are the first Ghanaian coach to do so!!! Is better to upgrade your knowledge in Britain than seeking advice from a pathetic SERBIAN COACH WITH ANTI FOOTBALL TACTICS!! Is better to waste tax payers money on Ghanaian technical crew than waste it on a USELESS SERBIAN COACH WITH WEAK TACTICS!!

  3. Maxwell Johnson says:

Did I see the useless GK’s trainer (Yakubu) among the list of personnel going for the trip? WTF is this corrupt going to do there?

  4. benny says:

This is a joke. When will it end.AA is coming to UK to spend time with his family at tax payers expense.
One minute its man city, next its liverpool and as if all those expenses is not enough he wants that greedy serbian traitor on board in Brazil.
Ghana would have save a lot of money if the job had been given to a competent coach.
Lets people give us a break with that nonsense of, AA is the first Ghanain coach to qualify Ghana to the world cup.l give AA the credit, well done to him but with the
calibre of players we have and the number of so call attachment AA goes , lots of our local coaches can do a better job.
Sellas Tetteh Bobo won under 20 world cup without any attachments.
If AA is not up to the job, why waste money on him.Football is a multi – billion business. Who would employ somebody as a manager of a company and waste money upon money on various attachments.
AA should step up and be bold to be his own man rather than enjoying living in others shadows.

  5. keith from germany says:

This move doesnt make sense at all.
So after all this while understudying coaches like claude leroy, milovan Rajevac and goran stefanovic does that mean that kwesi Appiah is still not up to the task.
Since he took over we have been hearing only of attachement this, attachement that.
So this shows that the gfa officials are not having confidence in AA.
Nigeria coach stephen keshi is always holding on his ground.i have alot of respect for him because he dont allow anobody to challange him.
As at now AA hasnt defeated any non african team.
The best result we got was Turkey in instanbul.
But in all these games we say no cohesion and no tactical play?
So my question to my favourite debate brother@selfmade,are u praising AA for his tactical bankruptcy or for his gentleness?
Selfmade has akwesi appiah impressed you tactically and technically?
Selfmade thats an open letter to you and i need an immediate answer?!!
As for AA i hope he proves me or most of us here wrong because i still have my doubts about his coaching.

  6. proverbz says:

Is funy how people come here to type rubish for social recognition eg keith am happy to know you are in germany but you are not a citizen lol.benny just grow up cause you sound like a jerk.spellbound focus on your business and stop focusing on another mans success.now you all should listen up hate him or love him he has proven to the world he is a coach he fail at the mundial or not his name is already in the world cup record book.so why you haters talking about what you and your family couldn’t do.if u dey vex dat AA is not Good enough just take a taxi,a map and drive to hell cause you can’t do anything about his trip to Uk.f**k all you haters

  7. selfmade says:

@ Keith…. Mate, firstly we all know that whether we like it or not, appiah has entered into the history book as the first Ghanaian coach and for that matter the first Blackman to qualify Ghana to the greatest human thearter on earth called the WC! I want very objective answer from u bro Keith!! Is appiah the first Ghanaian manger to coach the bs? What was the results of the other Ghanaian coaches with result to the WC? Did anyone of them able to qualify Ghana to the WC from 1960s? We all obviously know the answer already! Appiah has done an incredible job with the bs and we should try and give him his dues! Has appiah improved from been the tactless manager in the Sudan game at baba yara sports stadium during the afcon qualifiers? Yes he has improved tremendously and his results speaks for itself! Do we have any coach that’s tactically flawless? The answer is absolutely no and we all know that Alex Ferguson is not even that! Appiah has transformed our attack and now Ghana has killer instinct attack compared to the one goal project which was anti-football!! If appiah can fixed our defence which I know he is trying to do considering the number of defenders he has tried in that position, ghanas WC runs ll be INCREDIBLE!! I want everybody on this forum to MARK MY WORDS AND REMEMBER MY PREDICTION’S!!

  8. keith from germany says:

Selfmade u dont get my point.bro dont try to put words in my mouth.
If u read my previous comments you will know i dont have anything against kwesi appiah.
Infact its nice to see a black man qualify ghana to the mundial.
The other fact eventhough he has qualified us you selfmade of all people and i know that his tactical game plan is questionable because he has no tactical game approach.
I hav always being saying i will be the first to salute him if he proves me wrong.
But as at now eventhough i respect him as a human being im not impressed with him.
Selfmade u mention me one game under AA where the going gets tough and he changed the game?
    I cant remember one.
Selfmade i criticise constructively but not destructively.
Selfmade if you are satisfied wizh the stars playing low class football, then so be it.
As for me i will always say the truth.
    The real truth hurts

  9. keith from germany says:

Proverbs thats your opinion and i accept it.
Insulting somebody just because u dont agree with us is very unproffesional.
You can do better than that.i on my path will always conquer the evil with the good.
I wilm never returm evil for evil.

  10. selfmade says:

@ Keith…. Bro Keith, can a question with no tactical plan wins matches continoulsy let alone qualifying Ghana to the WC thru a tedious and unpredictable African campaign!! In fact connoisseurs of the game were very angry that this time African WC qualifers were too messy and difficult because after a hard group stages matches, the winner from the group has to meet again thru a playoffs!! In fact appiah has done such a fabulous job brcasue there is no guarantee that milo or any of the expatriates could have qualify us to the WC! Those coaches with no tactical plan for the WC fails to qualify and those with plan qualify period!! Mate, appiah has made a lot of good tactical changes in the course of the wc!! He made a rare change in Cairo Egypt in which kpb walked from the bench to score for us aided us to extend the aggregate over the pharoahs and killing their morale finally at the time when they were on a fire!! In Kumasi, appiah game plan totally eclipse that of Bradley such that he was forced to make unnecessary subs thru out the game!! Appiah has transformed our one goal project bs into an attacking brand and all that we need is to fixed our defence and I want u to mark it how Ghana WILL TOTALLY STOMP THE WC!!
