Black Stars striker Waris returns to scoring ways for Hacken in Sweden

Posted On Monday, 30th July 2012

Waris finishing up after his effort after entering the box

Ghana striker Abdul Majeed Waris scored his 13th Swedish top flight league goal on Monday as Hacken beat GAIS 3-1.

The 20-year-old was fouled inside the box on 87 minutes and Michael Ericsson stepped up to put it away to give Hacken a 2-1 lead.

Waris then sealed the points for Hacken with a fine effort in the 98th minute to help Peter Gerhardsson’s side to their ninth victory of the campaign.

He raced into the box and fired past the visitor’s goalkeeper to send the home fans into a jubilant mood.

Waris has been invited for Ghana’s international friendly against China in Beijing on August 15.

He leads the scorers chart in the Swedish Allsvenskan.

  2. coconutman says:

This guy is a goal scoring machine. Ghana fans want to see him (Waris) and Clottey in action against China. We already know what Gyan can do. We have already seen enough of Jordan and Adiyiah. We want to see if Clottey, Waris and Emma Baffour can handle the big time so give them some playing time to show their stuff.

In the midfield we want to see Atsu and Mpong, and in the defence bring back Masawudu Alhasan. Leave out Dede we know what he can do.

These are some of the new faces that will help the Black Stars outshine their opponents.

The formation? Go back to the Serbian 4-5-1, with one good striker up top. Waris, Clottey or Baffour. The old entertaining soccer is not working. Did you see the UAE a good team but not well coached. With a good coach they could have diced and sliced the British team in the Olympics.

Good 1 der, keep on scoring.

    Waris papa paaaaa!
