Ghana striker Abdul Majeed Waris feels for coach Akwasi Appiah as he prepares to trim his squad for the 2013 Nations Cup qualifier against Malawi.

The Black Stars are preparing to face the Flames in the first leg of the final qualifier for the finals to be staged early next year in South Africa.

Currently at 24, the Black Stars squad needs to be pruned down to the required 18-member playing team for the game to be played at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday.

And Waris reckons coach Appiah has a tough job to do as all the players are pulling their weight in training to make the final cut.

"Everybody is working really hard and I think the coach is going to have it difficult to make his final team for the match and this is good for the team," he told GHANAsoccernet.com after Wednesday’s training session.

Nevertheless, the ex Ghana captain will have to disappoint six players in order to fill his team sheet for Saturday’s game.

The Black Stars must win massively to ensure the second leg to be played next month is a mere formality.

Ghana will however travel to Monrovia to play an international friendly with Liberia after the crucial 2013 AFCON qualifier.
