Ghanaian players fear for their lives in DR Congo after Black Stars duo Solomon Asante and Richard Kissi Boateng were attacked in a murderous robbing on Sunday night.
Former Ghana U20 midfielder Gladson Awako was also robbed in a separate attack same night.
The attack sums up a horrible week for the five Ghanaian players with TP Mazembe as they escaped an angry mob unleashing violence during a derby game against Darling Club Motemba Pembe in Kinshasa.
Asante and Kissi, who share the same apartment in Lubumbashi were attacked by robbers who chased them out of their rooms with pistols and daggers before robbing them of their personal belongings.
They took away valuable assets including laptops, plasma television sets, cameras and mobile phones.
Awako also lost his money and other valuable items to the robbers.
Kissi and Asante who have been included in the Ghana squad for the 2014 World Cup qualifiers against Sudan and Lesotho are expected to take part of Mazembe’s league game against Molunge on Tuesday before enplaning to Accra to join their Black Stars team-mates.
