Sports Minister Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah says the Black Stars needs revamping to ensure qualification to the 2014 World Cup.

The team broke many hearts with their disappointing fourth-place finish at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.

Ghana’s President John Mahama has charged the team to qualify and excell at the 2014 World Cup to restore the nation’s pride in the Black Stars.

And sports minister Afriyie-Ankrah believes revamping the team in the face of technical and management challenges is the way forward.

“The team needs to be revamped, there were technical challenges including the penalties,” he told Radio Gold.

“There were also challenges with management. The GFA has presented a report that we are studying.

“At the end of the day, people are interested in the way forward. Qualifying and doing well at the World Cup is the main focus.”
