If Ghana are to have a hope of seeing off Portugal at the group phase of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, they have to shut off the supply to dangerman Cristiano Ronaldo, says Kotoko coach Mas-ud Dramani.

The African giants have been drawn in a group which has been touted as the ‘group of death’ featuring Germany, USA and the Portuguese.

Ghana will open her account against old foes the United States of America before they engage Germany and Portugal in the final group G game.

There are many who feel the Africans will have a tough task to advance from the group especially with Real Madrid ace Cristiano Ronaldo expected to marshal the attack of Portugal at the global showpiece.

Kotoko coach Mas-ud Dramani says the Black Stars must find a way to stop Ronaldo to ensure a smooth passage to the next round.

“We all know the pedigree of Ronaldo. He is a big player with many attributes,” Dramani said

“We have to try and close down the space in which he operate as it is difficult to get the ball of him.

“He is one of the best players in the world. He is very gifted on the ball and he can change the rhythm of a game at will.

"We have to close down the space and cut off the supply so he gets to see less of the ball. I have absolute trust the in the players. They have been there before and made us proud and can do the same in Brazil.”

The 28-year-old claims he slept throughout the World Cup draw in Brasilia last Friday.
