Stephen Appiah says he enjoyed his stay in the Black Stars
Ex-Ghana captain Stephen Appiah has revealed he has fond memories of his days in the Black Stars.
The former Juventus player retired from international football after the 2010 World Cup finals in South Africa.
Appiah made 69 appearances and scored 16 goals during his four year stint.
He captained Ghana to her maiden FIFA World Cup finals in 2006 and played a bit part role four years later.
In between that, the 31-year-old had to survive a career-threatening knee injury.
Appiah admitted he reminisces the lifestyle in the camp of the Black Stars two years after hanging boots.
“Yes I miss the Black Stars. I had a lot of wonderful moments with my colleagues and sometimes I miss the way we use to chat, share jokes and eat together,” Appiah told the Finder.
“But that is part of life and you have to give way to the young ones.”
Appiah was also evasive when asked about the possibility of him rescinding his decision.
“In life you can never say never but at the moment it looks very unlikely even though a lot of people have been talking to me to return.”
He had a successful second half of the season loan spell at Serbian top flight Vojvodina.
