Ghana maintained its strong position in the latest edition of the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking released on Thursday.

The Black Stars are still placed at 24th as the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking is celebrated an important anniversary this August, it's 20th anniversary.

The first edition was published 20 years ago, in August 1993.

Kwesi Appiah's side still held on to their 830 points, that's their accumulated tally from the previous month - July.

Ghana, who are pushing for 2014 World Cup final qualifying spot are still ranked second-best on the African continent behind Ivory Coast with Mali in third place.

In the overall world rankings, Spain are still number one spot ahead of Germany and Colombia in that order.

According to FIFA, the composition of the top 50 by confederation has changed in favour of CONCACAF following the Gold Cup.

UEFA 27, CONMEBOL 9, CAF 7 (down 1), CONCACAF 5 (up 2), AFC 2 (down 1), OFC 0.
