Black Stars hold first training session in Abu Dhabi

Posted On Saturday, 5th January 2013

Ghana trained for the first time at their pre-Nations Cup camping base in Abu Dhabi on Saturday night with 23 players.

The session involved shake-up and light ball work at the Zayad City Sports Complex.

Injured Olympique Marseille ace Andre Ayew and striker Asamoah Gyan missed the training session.

Ayew, who picked up a hamstring injury last Wednesday, failed to meet the reporting deadline despite being released by his club on Friday.

The Black Stars will continue training tomorrow before their first test match against Egypt on 10 January.

They will also play Nations Cup finalists Tunisia three days later before leaving for South Africa on 17 January.
