Black Stars full squad train ahead of Cape Verde friendly

Posted On Tuesday, 13th November 2012

Maxwell Konadu and his coach Kwesi Appiah

All 21 members of the Ghana squad were present for Tuesday evening’s training session ahead of the friendly international against Cape Verde.

Ghana play first-time Africa Cup of Nations finalist, Cape Verde in a warm-up game on Wednesday in Lisbon.

Ukraine-based duo of Derek Boateng and Samuel Inkoom who were the last to arrive on Tuesday after being delayed in Italy trained with the entire squad at the University of Lisbon Stadium.

A strike in Italy, where the players were transiting through from their base in Ukraine to the join the Black Stars in Lisbon held up their scheduled arrival.

Most of the players arrived by Monday night as they were in action for their clubs in Europe over the weekend.

  2. real sabacious says:

Good to hear, anyway i was expecting Maxwell konadu to keep the visionless Akwasi Appiah in check but seems like he’s also not up to the task.whilst other teams are fine tuning their preparation for the afcon,we’re still giving charity calls to bench warmers are players who have reached their prime.still waiting for the explaination of why Abeyie has not been called.heard he was rude to one official at GFA,if thats the case, then why cant the GFA demand an apology from him just like they’ve done to most of the players?sometimes i hardly dont get how AGYA NIMO’S led GFA does their thing.

God bless you, real sabacious,You have made my day.You really understand soccer. In any case leave Konadu sabacious,he is only a boot licker. The blind and clueless folks are Nyantakyie and Appiah.ABEYIE is the only lGhanaian player I respect.

  5. Gash says:

I have a question, Is it true the blackstars has never won any match against any Western European Country? Am kinda afraid of the answer but i still want to hear it.

  6. selfmade says:

Here we are again assembling the same set of players who has failed us from 2008 up tilled now… can’t we do the right things for once? Why cent we sometimes bury the hatchet for once and forgive others! I think there is someone at the gfa who has issues with quincy and has decided to punish the dude… Isaac boakye went thru the same scenario even when it was obvious that he needed to be called into the bs… i throw a challenge to the gfa and the coaching staff to proved ghanaians wrong by inviting quincy to the bs because we are getting tired of this bullshit from them.. eversince ghana 2008,this particular gfa has promised us the cup but what is amazing is that they failed to do the right things that can win us the cup!!! Damn!!! They always take injury proned and half fit players to major tournaments

  7. selfmade says:

Appiah is simply a funny man because should he be sacked, does he think that those gfa cabals ll go with him? Nyantakyi is still the gfa chairman though three or four coaches has passed thru his administration with one of them fired by this same man who early on supported every decisions of this fired coach!! Your job ll be on the line should the team failed to click whiles nyantakyi and co will be smiling their way to the bank!!! The same cabals prevented plavi from inviting full fit players to the last afcon and when the time came face the firing squad,he alone was villified, diss and cursed by ghanaians whiles nyantakyi is still at post!! What makes your case worst is that u are full bloodied ghanaian,so should u incase be fired,i bet u ll regret the day u became Ghana coach because u are very aware how ghanaians can insult coaches esp when they failed to performed and if u have no idea about what am saying, better asked your pal, welington or better still asked ck akunnor or if they are not your buddies, then asked your chosen captain asamoah gyan and i know he can give u an accurate report of ghanaian dissing!! Do the right thing now and invite the right players esp quincy!!! Asante( ghanaians) nkanye33! Vuva the revolutionciooooo!!!

  8. Dr Who says:

So for once, our FA cannot do the right thing? Cant they learn from Mancini & Tevez issue and forgive Quincy in the interest of the nation? Yooooo! The day of reckoning will come for AA and we shall see.

  9. selfmade says:

I just wished and pray that appiah do well at this coming afcon, because should he flopped,he ll forever regret being a ghanaian in the first place!!! What happened to gyan will be a child’s play!! This is because a lot of ghanaians has expressed their sentiments regarding the continuous calling of inkoom into the bs but has fallen on deaf ears or deliberately being ignored by this coach and should the worst thing happens in south africa,he should forget abt any of our national teams for the rest of his life!! Why do u continue called a player who has not being very actived at his club whiles ignoring quincy who plays day in and out??!!! Inkoom is a fine player but very wasteful and what is the purpose of running from defence to attack only to give a very wasteful cross!!! He is also very poor defensively and give tunisia a cheap equalizer during the last afcon and again, against zambia, gave the zambians a very cheap goal!!! We don’t expect anything extra o from inkoom again because we have seen what he can do and i think is about time we give equal opportunities to other ghanaian players too because the national team shouldnt be one man army!!! Appiah open eyes and give other players opportunities too because through that you can discover more players which can be credited to u…. leroy said he made gyan and how about u sir? Which player has u made up till now sir? If u don’t take care and start opening your eyes,a time ll come,u ll be public enemy number one!!! When that time comes,is not going to be only u but ur family too!! I know u speak and understand asante twi and most of the insults will be in it whiles nyantakyi and the cabals will reject u!!! A word to the wise is in konongo!!! Viva the revolutionciooolllklllllll!!!!

  11. Ezekiel Obiba says:

Quincy has not dan any tin bad,as he refuse to pay bribe to Nyatakye n his gfa people dat is why dey ave refuse to call him and with A Appiah I’m not xpectin him to call Quincy bcos he is de 1 who didnt allow de white coaches to invite Quincy to play 4 BS.AA hate Quincy 4 no reason,is only God who will judge dem.

  12. ghanaman says:

    Bunch of Morons above me…

  13. King Auda,Goaso says:

Enough is enough! No insults again, just post in ur views. Wish 2 see waris replicate dat scoring form in dis match. Go Gh.

  14. access says:

AA does not have his own mind,he is been ran by Kwasi Nyantakyi. If AA fail to win the Afcon2013 for Ghana then it was becuase of AA’s players selections.Ghana have the players to win this African cup nations in South Afica if AA make right selections.AA should call Quincy he bring more attacking and speed to Ghana offence.Ghana forget too people should remember Ghana vs Latvia .Quincy goal lift Ghana up goin into 2010 world cup in South Africa.

That goal gave Ghana confidence when we were demolish by holland.
