Black Queens coach Yussif Bassigi says struggling to understand his side’s early elimination at the ongoing African Women Championship in Namibia and has refused to take blame.

Ghana were tied on four points in Group B with second-place South Africa but got evicted on goal difference.

Failing to progress from the Group stage meant the Black Queens missed out on competing for the a slot to the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Canada

That notwithstanding Bassigi is adamant that is equal to failure.

"I am down; very down. I know I disappointed because nothing could convince me we could not qualify or even win the trophy before the tournament,” the Sekondi Hasaacas coach told the Ghana News Agency.

"The statistics even proved we were not that bad but unfortunately, my expectations were not met.

"But I will not term that as a failure."
