Ghana senior women’s team the Black Queens will camp in South Africa ahead of their anticipated participation at the 2014 African Women Championships.

The Black Queens will be facing Ethiopia in the second qualifying round for the tournament after smashing Burkina Faso in a 6-0 aggregate scoreline in the opening qualifying round.

The Government of Ghana has however approved proposals from the Ghana FA to have the team camp in South Africa to prepare adequately for the competition which will be hosted by Namibia.

“The national women’s team – the Black Queens - are currently playing the qualifying series for the Africa Women’s Championships,” Sports Minister Elvis Afriyie Ankrah said on his turn of the Meet-The-Press series.

“When they qualify, there are plans to have them camped in South Africa for the tournament.”

The Black Queens will regroup in the first week of April to begin intensive preparations for the first leg qualifier against Ethiopia in May.
