The Ghana U17 women’s team are battling the cold in their USA training camp ahead of the World Cup later this month.

The Black Maidens are based in Alabama where they have been playing a series of friendly matches.

The young girls have however had to battle with the extreme weather condition in the USA.

Coach Evans Adotey’s side had to play some of their warm up games in conditions less than five degrees Celsius.

The team have been limited to doing some of their training sessions in an indoor facility due to the extreme conditions but the team’s management committee chairman Samuel Oduro Nyarko insists preparations remain on course.

“The preparations have so far been very good with the only problem being the extreme weather condition here,” he told Peace FM.

“We played one of our games under five degrees Celsius and in another game we played at about three degrees Celsius.

“But preparations have been good and we believe the girls are getting the best of preparations before the World Cup.”

The team will remain in the USA until the end of the week before moving to Costa Rica before the commencement of the World Cup on March 15.
