Ghana suffered a huge setback at the Africa Cup of Nations on Wednesday when key defender John Paintsil suffered injury.
The right-back was taken off during the Black Stars semi-final clash with Burkina Faso in Nelspruit.
Pantsil, who is one of the of the inspirational figures in the Black Stars team, clutched his thigh and went to ground as he raced for the ball in the early parts of the game.
He was seen weeping as paramedics at the stadium carried him off the pitch on stretcher.
It is unclear what the exact injury is but experts say he could have suffered a hamstring injury.
Ghana will play in the third-place playoff on Saturday and the Black Stars medics must work extra hard to get him fit for the game in Port Elizabeth
