Berekum Chelsea's inconsistent league form bothering technical team

Berekum Chelsea have been very inconsistent this season

By Ameenu Shardow

Berekum Chelsea’s assistant coach Annoh Walker admits the side’s inconsistencies this season is proving a real concern for the technical team.

The Blues have suffered unprecedented defeats this season in the 4-1 loss to Ebusua Dwarfs and the 5-1 mauling at the hands of Liberty Professionals.

Chelsea have also suffered a surprised 1-0 home defeat to newly promoted club Amidaus Professionals despite being the only side to beat Asante Kotoko this season.

The Berekum-based side began this season’s league with a lot of promise following their impressive debut campaign in the CAF Champions League.

The team has however failed to fully capitalize on their Champions League backdrop and have blown hot and cold at times in the Ghanaian top flight.

Yusif Abubakar’s right hand man now admits this is a real bother to the technical team.

“Sometimes in football these things happen. To be honest it is a real concern for us the members of the technical team,” Walker said.

“We however remain focused and will be taking our last game very seriously.

“We played very well against Amidaus but it appears luck eluded us on the day but like I said we will continue working hard to ensure we finish the first round on a high.”

Chelsea will travel to Obuasi to take on AshantiGold in their final game of the first round on Sunday.
