Berekum Chelsea coach Hans Van der Pluijm has praised his side’s spirited displays despite exiting the Champions League.
The Ghanaian side ended their campaign in the competition despite beating TP Mazembe 1-0 in Accra on Sunday.
The Dutchman fielded a second-string side but the managed to contain the four-time African champions at home.
Van der Pluijm believes his side’s unyielding bravery deserves some commendations.
“I think our team showed a fantastic spirit in the game. In the first half, we played better, we had more ball possession and controlled the game better,” he said.
“The players kept believing and remained determined.”
Chelsea finished third in Group B with nine points from six games.
