The Berekum Chelsea team will receive mouth watering rewards for qualifying to the group stage of the CAF Champions League.
The dethroned Ghana Premier League champions recorded an impressive 2-1 away win over Cameroonian side Coton Sport on Sunday to make it into the money zone in their debut African campaign.
The team was promised massive rewards if they qualify for the group stage and the club president Emmanuel Kyeremeh says he will make do with his promise to motivate his boys ahead if what will certainly be a sterner test in the group stage.
“The boys were promised their bonus if they qualify. It means no winning bonus have been paid so far in this campaign,” he said.
“The win over the Liberian side, over Raja Casablanca were all not rewarded for because we told them bonus will only be paid if qualification is realized.
“So now that they have qualified, we will give them what is due them to motivate them ahead of matches in the group stage.”
Chelsea becomes the first Ghanaian side in six years after Hearts of Oak to make it through to the competition’s group stage.
